Background
I am an Italian prehistoric archaeologist with a master's degree in Prehistoric Archaeology from the University of Pisa. My thesis focused on the role of riverways in the Neolithization process of the Po, Rhone, and Ebro basins, using digital spatial and statistical analyses to explore different scenarios. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve had the opportunity to get my hands dirty (quite literally!) by participating in numerous excavation and survey campaigns. These hands-on experiences have strengthened my interest in prehistoric archaeology and deepened my passion for understanding the lifestyles and challenges of early human communities. Every dig and project has sharpened my curiosity and driven me to explore new research questions.
Motivation
I applied to be part of the ArCHe network because I strongly believe in the value of interdisciplinary exchange and the cross-regional vision that underpins the program. Having participated in projects both in Italy and abroad, and choosing to pursue my PhD in France, reflects my commitment to gaining diverse archaeological experiences. The mandatory secondments in this project will further expose me to a variety of research methodologies and perspectives, broadening my expertise as a researcher. This international experience will enrich my academic profile, enhance my adaptability, and foster valuable collaborative skills. I am confident that this experience will deepen my appreciation for the importance of comparison and knowledge-sharing and allow me to be part of a vibrant academic network that will continue beyond the project’s completion.
